What We Do:
We are a veterans’ service organization which vows to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a 100-percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation.
In short, we are here to benefit our community with an emphasis on supporting veterans in need.

Who We Are:
The American Legion is the world’s largest veterans’ organization. American Legion Post 310, the best little post on the lake, welcomes you to come for a visit. Membership is not limited to veterans only. If you are the direct descendant of a veteran or the spouse or widow(er) of a veteran, you may be eligible to join. Please stop by and ask if you are eligible. The Post is located in the city limits of Gun Barrel City, Texas off Hwy 198 south, just off the shores of Cedar Creek Lake. Cedar Creek American Legion Post 310 was chartered in September 1984. Shortly after receiving the charter, there was no actual Home Post and their first meetings were held in a little place of business just off Hwy 274 south in Seven Points, Texas. The new home post which was the former AMVETS building was purchased for a small fee, in the summer of 1985 and in subsequent years has received numerous improvements. In 1986, The American Legion members donated their time and labor and built a banquet room from which we are able to cook for any size crowd. Post 310 believes strongly in the family and together the Legion, Auxiliary, Sons and the American Legion Riders hold numerous charity events for the benefit of the community. American Legion Post 310 invites you to become a Member, Support Your Troops, The American Legion, Auxiliary, S.A.L. and The Riders.
If you are a veteran, a family member or the decedent of a veteran, come see what it takes to become a member of the greatest organization on the lake!
Our Transparency:
As a veterans’ service organization dedicated to our community, state and nation, we strive to be as open and transparent as possible. To ensure we’re doing everything we can reasonably do to keep our membership informed, we’ll post our constitution and by-laws. Minutes from our monthly meetings are available on our Legion Meeting Minutes page.
